The Dining Room Office Turns 50

It seems like I started this blog just six months ago, and yet here we are celebrating its 50th anniversary. There are so many people I want to thank for making this milestone possible. So, without further adieu…

“I hate to break it to you, but 50 posts doesn’t equal a 50th anniversary.”
“Oh great. You again. Why can’t you just let me have my moment? Ali and Roberto had theirs.”
“Don’t act so surprised. Someone has to keep you from unchecked ridiculousness. And really? You’re watching The Bachelorette now?”
“Um, I was watching The Bachelorette; the season finale aired Monday. But thanks for ratting me out anyway.”
“You only have yourself to blame.”
“That’s true. But I thought we agreed that me writing dialogue with myself would be best kept to my forthcoming bestseller.”
“You do this in your book?”
“Yes. Quite regularly, actually.”
“Sounds enchanting.”
“I like to think so, although I usually don’t carry it out this long because it starts to get confusing who’s actually talking.”
“But isn’t it always just you?”
“Whoa. As Nas would say, that’s stillmatic.”
“Right. Plus, no matter how convoluted this gets, at least you’re not throwing up another photo and calling it a post.”
“Hey, I risked a trespassing charge to pull off ‘Grandma!’”
“Time well-spent.”
“Thank you.”
“Alright, let’s wrap this up.”
“But I’m enjoying our conversation. I have so little to look forward to now that there won’t be any more rose ceremonies.”
“I’m sure General Hospital or the Kardashians or whatever other fine programming you’re watching these days can more than fill that void.”
“That’s what she said.”
“And we’re done.”
Thanks for sticking with me through the first 50 posts, everybody. Here’s to hoping the next 50 continue to meet the same rigorous standards.

I'd like to take full responsibility for all of your wonderful choices in TV shows. Yes, we really do watch all of the above in the Fox house.
