Since I started this blog in February 2010, I’ve been waiting to write one thing in a post:
I have a book deal.
And now that’s true.
To my family and friends: I can’t wait to celebrate with you. To my agent, Marissa Walsh: You quite obviously rule. And to my fellow writers still chasing that first deal: If this isn’t a sign to keep at it, I don’t know what is. I’m not exactly Emily Dickinson up in here.
Now, this post isn’t just to pat myself on the back (although I may have a bruise from doing it the last two days); it’s also my way of telling you that I’m going to be taking a short hiatus from the dining room office. I need to turn in my finished manuscript in November, so working on that will be dominating my time in the coming weeks.
Speaking of that manuscript, I can’t yet provide the details of what it’s about, who will be publishing it, or when it will hit stores and Amazon. But I promise it will be happening and that I’ll fill you in right here in the near future. In the meantime, you can keep up with me on Twitter by following @AuthorTedFox and @KnowWhosAwesome.
Like how I phrased that as though it were a privilege?
Anyway, my thanks to all of you for sticking with me while I’ve been an unpublished nobody. I know that this news isn’t as exciting for you as it is for me—that would be a little weird—but hopefully you’ll at least derive some satisfaction from having jumped on the Ted Fox bandwagon before everyone else.
Shhh. Don’t fight it.
