Internet Win of the Day: “What Fresh Hell is This?” Edition

Just something I thought was awesome for reals …

Monday Night Football Berman/Reilly Splitscreen

There are several reasons I love this tweet from Chris Becker (@crsbecker).

I love it because the guy on the left, ESPN’s Chris Berman, is the godfather of the obnoxious style-over-substance approach to sports journalism that is all too prevalent these days.

I love it because the guy on the right, ESPN’s Rick Reilly, wrote a nonsensical column earlier this year about how terribly undeserving Notre Dame football–you know, the current No. 1 team in the country–is of the attention it gets.

Most of all, I love it because I used to work at ESPN, and Chris’ comment/picture combo captures my disdain for my former employer perfectly.

Some of you may remember that Chris was featured several weeks ago in the first installment of “50 Words or Less(-ish) Fridays.” She also scored 1/2 of an Internet win point back on Oct. 16 for a rather iconic GIF, and with the full point she’s picked up here, she’s moved into sole possession of second in the Internet Win of the Day Top 10 (although her new total won’t be reflected until next week).

I’m sure that will make this Thanksgiving extra meaningful for her.
