Internet Win of the Day: National Grammar Day Edition

Just something I thought was awesome for reals …

Click the link up in the tweet or right here to read writer Tony Noland’s short poem about the subtle beauty of that oft-misunderstood piece of punctuation, the semi-colon.

This would catch my eye any day of the year, but considering it’s National Grammar Day, I’m all the more excited about it. And that sentence should tell you all you really need to know about me and my interests. But just in case it doesn’t, behold Exhibit B, the blog post I once wrote about this photo:

No, that’s not my arm. But a fella can dream.

Today’s Internet Win point gets split between Tony (@TonyNoland), the writer of this semi-colon love story, and the Grammar Girl herself, Mignon Fogarty (@GrammarGirl), who published Tony’s opus in her newsletter back in 2009 and tweeted about it today in honor of this national holiday.

Hyphens, N dashes, and M dashes all make me giddy! The semicolon is pretty good too!
