Just something I thought was awesome for reals …
Ahem: Asking Someone To The Prom Is Not A ‘Proposal.’ npr.org/blogs/monkeyse…
— Linda Holmes (@nprmonkeysee) May 29, 2013
If you’re a current high school student, Linda’s piece—which includes video from the frontlines—should be required reading in health class or something, or at least a PSA read dramatically at an assembly.
Now if you’ve graduated from high school and have ever, in a fit of nostalgia, wished you could go back, this should set you straight by helping to remind you of just how odd and awkward that time in our lives can be.
And if, on the other hand, you absolutely hated high school, well, reading about “promposals” will only validate everything you’ve ever thought about those four years.
A writer at NPR’s pop culture blog, Monkey See, Linda (@nprmonkeysee) takes the full point for today’s Internet Win, giving her two points total, which will be good for a tie for fifth when my new Top 10 comes out next week.
Awarding someone an Internet Win—now that would be a promposal for the ages.
