This is just what the name implies: On Fridays, I ask someone interesting a question and request that she/he respond in 50 words or less.
Or somewhere in the ballpark of 50 words. That’s why there’s an “-ish.” I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but this site isn’t exactly a bastion of rigidity.
I’m excited to be joined this week by Sandra Gonzalez, an entertainment journalist and writer who has spent the past five years covering television and pop culture for Entertainment Weekly. A proud native of Texas, she currently resides in—and tweets from—Los Angeles. Speaking of, you can find her on Twitter as @EWSandraG.
Now Sandra is something of a How I Met Your Mother expert, so after this, you should check out her recap of the finale for EW. And then after that, if you want to hear the two most professional amateurs in podcasting eulogize the series and break down the last episode for an hour-and-a-half, you’re likely my wife or my mom. So for the two of them, here’s the HIMYM podcast Kid Gazoo and I did last week.
But first things first. I asked Sandra:
If you could, would you change anything about the HIMYM finale? And if so, what?
I would have given the writers an extra 30 minutes of airtime. We know there was a lot left on the cutting room floor—like Robin Sparkles—and I’d be willing to bet (slap bet, in fact) that many of the omitted scenes were full of legen-waitforit-dary moments.
Fortunately, I have no such time limit, and I love me some Robin Sparkles:
Huge thanks to Sandra for stopping by this week and helping me say goodbye to a show none of us will soon forget.
That is what it’s all aboot.
