Internet Win of the Day: Sept. 3

Just something I thought was awesome for reals …

ManuscriptWishList.com (born out of the Twitter hashtag #MSWL) is the brainchild of author KK Hendin (@kkhendin) and literary agent Jessica Sinsheimer (@jsinsheim), and it’s fan-freaking-tastic.

And I’m not just saying that because Jessica is my agent and I’m trying to make up for all those neurotic emails I send to her. Those stand alone, thank you.

No, this is just a great new site for agents, editors, writers, and everyone else in publishing. It allows the agents and editors to describe what they’re currently looking for in their submissions inboxes so that they get more of what they’re interested in and less of what they’re not, to the benefit of all involved. What’s more, you can search by genre (e.g., narrative nonfiction) or by the more specific tags (Guardians of the Galaxy, optimism, history of an idea) to find the people most likely to appreciate your Groot references.

So, if you’re in the book business, I’d encourage you to check out this site stat; if you’re an editor or agent in particular, why not get yourself added to the listings? It’s super easy.

In the meantime, I’m handing out two points for today’s Internet Win, split evenly between KK and Jessica, instead of the customary one because it took a ton of work to pull this off.

And because I need one of them to keep answering my emails.
